Social Media Marketing Analytics Project
Annotation: This
analytics case study was created as a group project for EME6356 Learning and
Web Analytics. It was designed as a
review of a particular use of social media analytics, and was only a case study
review of an example of social media analytics that we located in a current
periodical. We focused on the use of
marketing analytics to alter public perception of Super Bowl marketing,
identify implications for analytic tool use, and review real-time monitoring
and assessment of marketing activities.

Community Observation Paper
Annotation: This
paper was written for EME6414 Web 2.0 Based Learning and Performance. It presents two online learning communities
in an effort to identify their strengths and weaknesses as Web 2.0 tools to
facilitate learning and performance.
This was carried out and written as an individual paper. While the tools located were used throughout
the semester as Web 2.0 tools, this paper reflected a few weeks’ worth of use
of the online communities.
Excerpt below- discussion section of paper:
Discussion
Both online communities explored in this paper offer the user
a learning community. They also each use
a variety of Web 2.0 tools in the communication of learning; journal articles,
expert writing and online publications, instructional videos and webinars are
all utilized to some extent at each site.
They are also both very easy to use; the platforms are simple and the
interface is straightforward in each case.
Both communities also offer mobile versions so members can keep up with
information on the go. All of these
characteristics lend validity to the online community and contribute to
sustainability; if members find using the community to be inviting and easy,
they are more likely to continue to use it.
No particular weaknesses were uncovered during this observation period. However, potential weaknesses that could
emerge include technical support (is there a purposeful, dedicated support
system or is it all volunteer?), inappropriate content (is there a chance of
bullying or ‘trolling’ by individuals?), and content accuracy (who vets the
postings? Readers still need to be vigilant).
Even given those possible weaknesses, this observation has demonstrated
the ability of online social media based communities to promote learning and
performance through thoughtful consideration and participation by individuals.

Evaluation Plan
Annotation: This
evaluation plan was created as an assignment in EDF5461 Program
Evaluation. The plan is for evaluation
of a cluster of clinical work experience courses offered at Hillsborough
Community College in order to facilitate improvement of the learner experience
and student outcomes. This was an
individual design assignment and was used for further project development in
the course (see Artifact 13).
